Undead and Unsmart. These books are so annoying.

I loved this series when it first came out but gave up around #4 or so because what started out as cute and fluffy humor got old quick. Betsy and her friends never grow up or learn anything and they’re all idiots. And honestly, who really cares that much about shoes? I am female. I do enjoy shoes. But Betsy can be a freak about it. It started as a cute quirk that this far in is weird and bothersome.

Ok, book 6 she’s finally marrying Sinclair, a character I hated from book 1. He’s a jerk and pig and I don’t see why she’s so into him. Just because the Book of the Dead says they’ll rule together for 1000 years? So what? That doesn’t mean they have to be together! Anyway, Betsy’s in the last stages of planning with the wedding 2 weeks away and her friends disappear and she meets werewolves. Blah, blah, they fight a big bad and waddle down the aisle in the “perfect” wedding dress that sounds like a hot mess.

Book 8 deals with the werewolves again as apparently at the end of the book between these 2 Betsy’s werewolf friend died protecting her and they blame her. She has to face council but of course eventually wins them over with her “charms”. Meanwhile half-sister Laura, daughter of Satan, goes nutters and Betsy comes home to a fight with her. Blah, blah, devil reveals she had a hand in it. No one trusts Laura anymore but she calms down. Betsy realizes she could destroy the world – something we’ve known since Laura was introduced so I don’t get the shock.

I’m officially done with this series this time. The characters show absolutely no growth. If anything, they regress.

And really, is there really a classy, educated gal out there with a foul mouth on her like Betsy? It’s not super believable. No one in real life says “Fuck a duck”. Really. And she’s to old to say asshat as that started on the internet and Betsy complains she hates netspeak and internet stuff so I doubt she surfs web forums, so oops! Where’d she pick it up at?

I watched this almost a full week ago and it took me this long to remember to post about it. That’s how awesome I found it.

I was bored. I had to force myself to finish it and even then I stopped several times and did other things. It’s like they knew they didn’t have a coherent story so they just decided to blow as much shit up as possible. And I like action movies. I even liked the first Transformers movie. This just, no pun intended, blew.

Bumblebee’s still a cutie though.

3 people who don’t know each other – an “older” male doctor (they act like he’s in his 40’s but I bet he’s only in his early 30’s), a female college student, and a “young” man (they give the impression he’s high school age but he’s covered in tats and there’s no way his face is that of a teen) get stuck in an elevator in their abandoned apartment complex over 4th of July weekend. If that isn’t tense enough, 1 of them’s actually a serial killer and said person starts acting pretty twitchy early on. I don’t know if it was supposed to be a big shock which one would be the killer because if so, they did a terrible job keeping it secret.

I couldn’t get into this because it felt unbelievable. They’re in the elevator like 4 hours before they even try to pry open the doors, even longer before 1 of them climbs on top of the elevator and attempts to climb up the shaft, and they proceed to hang out until hour 19 before another attempt is made! And wouldn’t there be some sort of safety access along the side of the elevator, somewhere up by the walls in a modern building? There’s only a shaft. And a super un-safe looking 1 at that.

And the building manager would get sued because there’s no actual emergency call – somewhere around hour 5 or so after the 1 who climbs out falls back in and jars the elevator, a looping auto-voice comes on assuring them techs are aware of the problem and will assist shortly. Apparently the loop goes for a while because it comes back in several hours later as it kinda dies. And the building is HUGE. But they only have 5 families in it – all of which are out of town except the 3 in the elevator.

To many plot holes. It annoyed me.

Eliza Dushku solves a murder - sorta - and goes nuts while flashing her funbags. Fun for the whole family.

Bleh. I couldn’t even finish this in one sitting it was that boring.

Quick rundown: Eliza Dushku of “Buffy” and “Dollhouse” fame plays Megan, a detective at the beginning of the movie who gets overly obsessed with the case of a murder/rape of a little girl whose first and last name have the same letter. She has a breakdown and tries to kill herself. Turns out she has adult onset schizophrenia. 2 years latter she’s recovering with the help of meds and a support group just in time for 2 more murders. She begs to be put on the case. Which I GUESS she solves. It’s unclear because she has another breakdown.

There are Lifetime movies with more suspense and mystery. But for the guys (well, and I guess girls who care) Eliza Dushku flashes her boobs. It annoyed me that she, a cop, would be wandering around trying to solve the case that’s been driving her literally crazy sans bra.

Skip this one. If you’re in the mood for a good (although very long) made for tv murder, based on true events, watch Lifetime Movies’ The Capture of the Green River Killer – not to be confused with The Green River Killer which is TERRIBLE.

It's okay to want to do your girlfriend while looking at bloody murder photos. While working. On said murder. And it makes you a good dad.

Bleh. Couldn’t hardly finish this. And I wasn’t even reading it, I listened to it all at work. It still took me over 2 weeks to slog through it.

Alex Cross continues to wow both law enforcement and criminals alike with his brains. Except he seems like such a ninny I can’t see why. Several times what should have been obvious to the dumbest person went over the head of Cross, his girlfriend Brianna who’s heading the case, and Samson. Cross has morphed into a horny Mary-Sue over the course of the last few books. Maybe he always was. I tend to refer to the movie characterization of him to heavily. I haven’t read all the Cross books.

Anyway, so there’s a killer who calls himself an actor or some such nonesense who plays different characters for each murder. Whatever. Only, shock, he’s actually 2 people. And a former foe (I’m assuming the way it was worded, I haven’t actually read any books with him in) Kyle Craig escapes an “unescapable” maximium security prison (apparently not so much) in a totally stupid and unbelievable way.

Oh! And dear Mr. Patterson, on that subject. I’ve watched enough CSI and Law and Order to know lawyer/client privilege doesn’t mean the lawyer wouldn’t get searched and there wouldn’t be a guard at least watching the meeting, even if he couldn’t HEAR IT! Otherwise we’d have lawyers sneaking crap into their clients all the time! But no, I’m sure a lawyer could easily sneak in a perfect replica of both their faces, put them on with no mirrors and not look wonky, and switch clothing unnoticed. Really.

The ending’s boring and uneventful. Except maybe for like 5 seconds there of the the Cross/Kyle Craig face-off. I got a brief hoyay almost Mylar-esque vibe between them that interested me but then that fizzled. I didn’t actually stick around for the end, END as in final paragraph but I got most of it out of the way.

And also? It grossed me out how often Cross would, during THE MURDER INVESTIGATION, stop to think how hot he was for Bri. How he wanted to do her right there. While looking at murder photos. Freak. And they can just stop telling us how freaking great a parent he is. He’s never home, he finally gets a night off and what’s he do? Go home to his family? NO! He spends the night in a hotel with Bri. Yuck!

If you like watching guys take dildo's attached to stationary bikes up the ass and make their penius bounce and talk at its opening, this movie's for you.

YUCK! This was awful! I spent most of the movie with my hands over my eyes. And I REALLY needed eye bleach after watching it. I didn’t expect it to be clean or anything but this was WELL beyond what I was expecting.

I saw it with my younger siblings (which makes it all the better) and my brother said he only laughed twice and while my sister and I both laughed through it, it was the laughter of embarrassment.

So if you like watching guys take dildo’s attached to stationary bikes up the ass and make their penius bounce and talk at its opening, this movie’s for you. Otherwise, stay clear. You’re been warned.

Bleh. Didn’t like this. It seemed like a REALLY LONG music video for bad, hipster music.

The powers were mostly cool but I didn’t like the handles they gave them. Pusher = someone who can push their thoughts into your own. Watcher= someone who sees the future…sorta. Really it looked like they focased on a specific person and watched them but we were told they see the future. Mover=TK. There were several others but they were really dumb, non-specific names.

Mostly I just hated the music video feel of it. The movie could easily have been cut down by about a half hour if they didn’t stick in a slow-mo montage moment every couple minutes.

Give me Heroes any day, even with as lousy as it’s been.

A serial killer with a breathing problem down in a mine shaft. How could this not be good?

Ick. What a shitty movie. I guess it kept me entertained but I spent most of the movie laughing at how lousy it was or snorting at least. And seriously, can Kerr Smith ever not play a douche-nozzle?

Even Jensen couldn’t save this for me, although he’s very pretty but essentially, he’s pretty much Dean right down to constantly dressing in layers. Oh, except he doesn’t have a baby brother who might go crazy demon evil anytime and he didn’t hunt any supernatural forces. Other than that, same.

I was kinda spoiled already after guessing the ending, only half serious to a co-worker who saw it in the theater.

Surprise! They went with what all horror movies are doing anymore. The main character, Tom, played by Jensen Ackles, is crazy and apparently has multiple personalities and thinks he’s the serial killer from years ago. What a cop-out. And pretty much impossible since how did he manage to shut himself inside that cage? Even when they showed what “really” happened at the end, it was unbelievable. Whatever.
